During the first half of the 20th century, Alagoas had great relevance in the national fabric industry. The cotton weaving resulted in striking workers' conflicts, which occurred in the 1960s. This article identifies reasons why, among the workers' struggles of the period, female protagonism in the struggles for better working conditions stood out, focusing on the historical importance of the strike that occurred in 1962 at the Carmen Factory, in Maceió, Alagoas. The article aims to analyze documents present in the present bibliography on the subject.||Durante a primeira metade do século XX, Alagoas teve grande relevância na indústria de tecidos nacional. Da tecelagem algodoeira, resultaram conflitos operários marcantes, ocorridos nos anos 1960. Este artigo identifica razões por que, entre as lutas operárias do período, destacou-se o protagonismo feminino nas lutas por melhores condições de trabalho, com foco na importância histórica da greve ocorrida em 1962 na Fábrica Carmen, em Maceió, Alagoas. O artigo visa analisar documentos presentes na bibliografia presente sobre o tema.
