This article proposes the presentation of a panorama from the past, the present and perhaps the future of the context of collaborative artistic practices, emphasizing the contemporary practices of community-based art and pointing to the emergence of new “type-artists” who deal with everyday issues: the artist-researcher, the family-artist and the citizen-artist. Through articulations between actions, thoughts and concepts developed by artists, critics and philosophers, we seek to identify revealing elements of what we are considering to be the development of an “aesthetic epistemology” that would be underway, as well as to understand and attest to the role of the contemporary artist in this process.||Este artigo propõe a apresentação de um panorama do passado, do presente e, quiçá, do futuro, do universo das práticas artísticas colaborativas, enfatizando as práticas contemporâneas de community-based art e apontando para o surgimento de novos “artistas-tipo” que lidam com questões cotidianas: o artista-pesquisador, o artista-da-família e o artista-cidadão. Por meio de articulações entre ações, pensamentos e conceitos desenvolvidos por artistas, críticos e filósofos, buscamos identificar elementos reveladores daquilo que consideramos ser o desenvolvimento de uma “epistemologia estética” que estaria em curso, bem como entender e atestar o papel do artista contemporâneo nesse processo.
