This article discusses the aspects of school inspection, through the crossing of imaginary and textual sources found in the school archive of. In the city of Florianópolis, capital of Santa Catarina. The analysis will focus on two photographs produced during a civic parade and attached to the school inspection report for the year 1947. The historiographical work on these documents seeks to understand how the college registered and witnessed its adherence to the state prescriptions in force in the period . This study was made possible by the process of enlargement of sources, which emerges from the publications of Annales (1929), through the incorporation of new forms of sources, besides the historiographic operation made by writing. In the recent approaches of Cultural History, photography has gained space in historical research, but its use still points to the need to master some specific knowledge and techniques that need to be triggered in historiographic making.||Este artigo discute os aspectos da inspeção escolar, através do cruzamento de fontes imagéticas e textuais encontradas no arquivo escolar do Colégio Coração de Jesus – CCJ, localizado na cidade de Florianópolis, capital de Santa Catarina. A análise se concentrará em duas fotografias produzidas durante um desfile cívico e anexadas ao relatório de inspeção escolar do ano de 1947. O trabalho historiográfico sobre estes documentos pretende buscar compreender como o colégio registrou e testemunhou a sua adesão, às prescrições estatais em vigor no período. Este estudo foi possibilitado pelo processo de ampliação de fontes, que emerge desde a publicações da revista Annales, (1929), através da incorporação de novas formas de fontes, além da operação historiográfica feita pela escrita. Nas recentes abordagens da História Cultural, a fotografia tem ganhado espaço na pesquisa histórica, mas seu uso ainda assinala para a necessidade do domínio de alguns conhecimentos e técnicas específicas que precisam ser acionadas no fazer historiográfico.
