This article will analyze how the Itamaraty, as the main and most traditional body formulating and executing Brazilian foreign policy, was inserted in the complex information network that began to be officially structured in Brazil in 1927, during the government of President Washington Luis, and it became institutionalized in 1964, when the National Information Service (SNI) was created, with the main target of combating international communism.||Este artículo analizará cómo el Itamaraty, como principal y más tradicional organismo de formulación y ejecución de la política exterior brasileña, se insertó en la compleja red de información que comenzó a estructurarse oficialmente en Brasil en 1927, durante el gobierno del presidente Washington Luis, y se institucionalizó en 1964, cuando se creó el Servicio Nacional de Información (SNI), con el objetivo principal de combatir el comunismo internacional.||Este artigo irá analisar de que maneira o Itamaraty, enquanto principal e mais tradicional órgão formulador e executor da política externa brasileira, se inseriu na complexa rede de informações que começou a ser oficialmente estruturada no Brasil em 1927, durante o governo do presidente Washington Luis, e se institucionalizou no ano de 1964, quando foi criado o Serviço Nacional de Informações (SNI), tendo como principal alvo o combate ao comunismo internacional.
