The purpose of this article is to offer an opportunity to reexamine the cultural dialogue between East and West based on the various reflections raised by the "GloveEvolg" exhibition (in Japanese, "Tebukuro | Rokubute") held at the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo (MOMAT). The exhibition, organized from a re-reading of Merleau-Ponty's concept of reversibility, sought to establish dialogue between Japanese and Western artists. Like the exhibition, this article seeks to think on the theme of otherness and the reversibility of objects.||O objetivo deste artigo é oferecer uma possibilidade de reexaminar o diálogo cultural entre Oriente e Ocidente partindo das diversas reflexões suscitadas pela exposição “Glove-Evolg” (em japonês, “Tebukuro | Rokubute”) realizada no Museu Nacional de Arte Moderna de Tóquio (MOMAT). A exposição, organizada a partir de uma releitura do conceito de reversibilidade de Merleau-Ponty, buscou estabelecer diálogo entre artistas japoneses e ocidentais. Assim como a exposição, este artigo busca refletir sobre o tema da alteridade e da reversibilidade dos objetos.
