Focalizando a definição do sistema da forma, este texto explica a teoria do signo plástico do Groupe μ. A validade da definição é avaliada com base em algumas distinções-chave em semiótica geral e retórica visual. A distinção entre signo icônico e signo plástico é explicada a partir da noção de forma semiótica enquanto algo distinto de formas/formatos plásticos. O sistema da forma, sendo uma taxonomia de posição, dimensão/tamanho e orientação, encontra-se descrito, e sugerem-se alguns esclarecimentos. Finalmente se discutem implicações retóricas e pedagógicas. ||This paper explains Groupe μ’s theory of the plastic sign, focusing on the definition of the system of form. The validity of the definition is evaluated with regard to some key distinctions in general semiotics and visual rhetoric. The distinction between iconic signs and plastic signs in pictures is thus explained with reference to the notion of semiotic form as distinct from plastic forms/shapes. The system of form as a taxonomy of position, dimension/size and orientation is described and some clarifications are suggested. Finally, rhetorical and pedagogical implications are discussed.
