¿Cómo se ha documentado la teatralidad travesti a lo largo de la historia? ¿Cómo el texto se interpuso con la escenificación a lo largo de la historia teatral en el sentido de articular la categoría travesti? El desarrollo de producciones escénicas contemporáneas cuyo bojo investigativo destaca los desafíos de reconocimiento de las transgeneridades en lo social nos remite a la reflexión sobre cuáles son las variaciones psicosociales de la participación textual de la categoría travesti en la historiografía del teatro. Este artículo trae el levantamiento y análisis de la producción textual sobre las transgeneridades en el teatro en tres períodos históricos: a) Baja Edad Media (siglos XI a XV) y Renacimiento Italiano (siglos XIII a XV); b) Teatro Elisabetano (siglo XVI); y c) Comédie Française (siglos XVII y XVIII). Para verificar los modos como las producciones teatrales que contienen la figura travesti se hicieron frente al momento social propio de cada época, reflexionamos sobre el efecto estético y los cambios en los modos de recepción teatral de la figura travesti.||How did transvestite theatricality was documented throughout the history? How did text interpose with the staging throughout theatrical history in the sense of articulating the transvestite category? The development of contemporary scenic productions whose investigative core highlights the challenges of recognizing transgenderities in the social environment leads us to reflect on the psychosocial variations of the textual participation of the transvestite category in the historiography of the theater. This article presents a research and an analysis of the textual production on transgendered theater in three historical periods: a) Low Middle Ages (11th to 15th centuries) and Italian Renaissance (13th to 15th centuries); b) Elizabethan Theater (16th century); and c) Comédie Française (17th and 18th centuries). In order to verify the ways in which the theatrical productions containing the transvestite figure deal with the social moment of each period, we reflect on the aesthetic effect and the changes in modes of theatrical reception of the transvestite figure.||Como se documentou a teatralidade travesti ao longo da história? Como o texto se interpôs à encenação ao longo da história teatral no sentido de articular a categoria travesti? O desenvolvimento de produções cênicas contemporâneas cujo bojo investigativo destaca os desafios de reconhecimento das transgeneridades no social nos remete à reflexão sobre quais as variações psicossociais da participação textual da categoria travesti na historiografia do teatro. Este artigo traz o levantamento e análise da produção textual sobre as transgeneridades no teatro em três períodos históricos: a) Baixa Idade Média (séculos XI a XV) e Renascença Italiana (séculos XIII a XV); b) Teatro Elisabetano (século XVI); e c) Comédie Française (séculos XVII e XVIII). Para verificar os modos como as produções teatrais que contém a figura travesti fizeram frente ao momento social próprio de cada época, refletimos sobre o efeito estético e as mudanças nos modos de recepção teatral da figura travesti.
