This text departs from the panorama that I wrote in 2007 about the music of the Amerindian societies in lowland South America. Since then up to now, an important growth of this area of study is happening. Already in 2007, I considered promising the results of the efforts of research. Something much stronger I can say today, also pointing to the necessity of analysis of the respective studies toward the drawing of the profile of music in the region and the projection of new inquiries. I will make this here briefly, on the basis of some ethnographies, includingthat one by myself, about the ritual of Yawari of the Kamayurá of Upper Xingu.||Este texto parte do panorama que elaborei em 2007 da música nas sociedades indígenas das terras baixas da América do Sul. De lá para cá, houve um crescimento importante da subárea de estudo. Já em 2007, considerei promissores os resultados dos esforços de pesquisa realizados. Algo muito mais forte posso dizer hoje, apontando também para a necessidade de análise da produção em comentário na direção do desenho do perfil da música na região e da projeção de novas investigações. Farei isto aqui brevemente, com base em algumas etnografias, inclusive a do ritual do Yawari dos Kamayurá do Alto-Xingu, de minha autoria.
