This study addresses the female character in the play As Primícias (1970), by Dias Gomes, with respect to the aspects of rupture and dissent represented by the structural elements that approximate the tragic genre. In the speech of the character named “Proprietário” (Owner) there is the determinism of the social and political conditions prevailing in his lands and in the fate of men. The fact of being characterized by a social role instead of a name is a reference to the universal situation of power abuse. Although the play moves away from the genre in some aspects, in others it maintains a strong intertextuality with ancient tragedy regarding the stylization of the heroin, the presence of radical antinomies and the interventionist role of the chorus.||Este estudo reflete sobre a personagem feminina na peça As Primícias (1970), de Dias Gomes, nos aspectos referentes à ruptura e dissidência representados a partir de elementos estruturais que se aproximam do gênero trágico. Na fala do personagem denominado “Proprietário” está presente o determinismo das condições sociais e políticas que impera nos domínios de suas terras e no destino dos homens. Ao ser caracterizado por um papel social, ao invés de um nome, remete a uma situação universal de abuso de poder. Embora, a peça distancie-se do gênero em alguns pontos; em outros, mantêm forte intertextualidade com a tragédia antiga no que se refere à estilização da heroína, à presença das antinomias radicais e à função interventiva do coro.
