French-speaking Maghreb writers use languagethat is not their own (French); However, theithinking remains that of the Maghreb. Three phases of this literature are worth mentioning:1) at the time of the French protectorate, It wasa literature of uprooting, Search for identity.These authors had lost the identity markers and asked themselves the question: “who arewe?” And most of them considered themselves bastards of a language. They rose up againstthe colonization of their respective countries. The theme became the essential framework oftheir writings. 2) As for the second generation, the one that appeared with the magazine SOUFFLES, it bent over the language and writing in general by relegating the subjectback to the background. 3) The third category of writers returns to the theme, with an emphasis on self-writing and denouncing the problems of their society.||Les écrivains maghrébins d’expression française utilisent une langue qui n’est pas la leur (le français); toutefois, leur pensée reste celle du Maghreb. Trois phases de cette littérature sont à signaler : Au temps du protectorat français, c’était une littérature de déracinement, de recherche de l’identité. Quant à la seconde génération, celle qui apparaissait avec la revue Souffles, elle se penchait sur la langue et l’écriture en général en reléguant la thématique rebassée au second plan. La troisième génération d’écrivains revient à la thématique, en mettant l’accent sur l’écriture de Soi et en dénonçant les problèmes de leur société.||Os escritores magrebinos de expressão francesa utilizam uma língua que não é a deles (o francês); todavia, seu pensamento continua sendo magrebino. Assinalamos três fases desta literatura: no tempo do protetorado francês, era uma literatura de desenraizamento, de busca de identidade. Quanto à segunda geração aparecida junto com a revista Souffles, dedicava-se à língua e à escrita em geral, relegando a temática rebaixada a segundo plano. A terceira geração volta à temática, colocando acento na escrita de si e denunciando problemas de sua sociedade.
