The analysis of songs “Vai Vir Ar” and “Cálice” compares world's representations, political and social relations of power, historicities, dialogical alterity and identities inherent to the time when the compositions were make, which can be recovered through music and poetry. Teaching language through protest songs makes it possible to empower students with historically constituted and constructed knowledge to perceive discursive and ideological effects of silencing, oppression, domination, violence, forming people to act in the humanization of social practices. ||A análise de canções “Vai Vir Ar” e “Cálice” compara representações de mundo, relações de poder político e sociais, historicidades, alteridade dialógica e identidades inerentes à época das composições, possíveis de recuperar por meio da música e da poesia. Ensinar língua através das canções de protesto torna possível potencializar nos estudantes conhecimentos historicamente constituídos e construídos para perceber efeitos discursivos e ideológicos de silenciamento, de opressão, de dominação, de violência, formando pessoas para atuar na humanização das práticas sociais.
