Resumo: Este trabalho objetivou mapear a variação do uso da terra no município de Várzea da Palma, localizado no Norte de Minas Gerais a partir das geotecnologias. Utilizou-se para tal uma escala espaço-temporal, onde os períodos de 1985, 2005 e 2010 foram selecionados para inferir as análises. A escolha desta localidade deve-se ao crescente avanço de áreas antropizadas ao longo dos anos mapeados, bem como a partir dos trabalhos de campo nas áreas rurais desse município. Verificou-se assim, acréscimos das áreas antropogênicas neste intervalo de tempo, consequentemente analisou-se decréscimos significativos de áreas nativas, sobretudo, de Cerrado em detrimento do avanço do agronegócio. Land use mapping by geotechnologies in the municipality of várzea da PalmaAbstract: The aim of this work is to map the variation of land use, from geotechnologies, in the municipality of Várzea da Palma, located in the North of Minas Gerais. A space-time scale was used, and periods of 1985, 2005 and 2010 were selected to infer the analysis. The option for this locality is due to the increasing advance of anthropic areas throughout the mapped years, as well as from fieldwork in the rural areas of this municipality. Thus, there were increases in the anthropogenic areas during this time, and consequently, significant decreases could be observed in native areas, mainly in the Cerrado, to the detriment of the agribusiness advance.
