This paper aims to discuss the intangible and tangible cultural heritage of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, to consider elements of school practice which engender in school agents’ positive identifications of who we are, where we stand and what are our future projects. Based on Pierre Nora, considering the notion of ‘’places of remembrance’’ we seek to highlight the meanings and senses that the heritage sites of the State aggregate, to realize that when shared and re-signified those sites provide the invention of places. On the other hand, we also point out the benefits and limits of the readings of memorialist sources which bring us closer to collective memory; by embarking on those readings, we identify the way people interact with those places, in other words, the culture and history of the social groups we belong to. Therefore, it's aimed to highlight some of the initiatives made by Fundação de Cultura, Instituto Histórico Geográfico de Mato Grosso do Sul and Museu de Arqueologia from UFMS, which made the reissue of classic works from sul-mato-grossense culture possible, bringing it closer to our collective memory. Lastly, it was possible to identify forms of using those works with patrimonial education in which break through this sistematic and plastered sequency of official history, which promotes the acknolegment and valuation of shared culture as well as the knowledge of our own history.||Este artigo tem como objetivo problematizar o patrimônio cultural material e imaterial de Mato Grosso do Sul, para pensar elementos de uma prática escolar produtora nos agentes escolares de identificações positivas de quem somos, onde estamos e que projetos temos para o futuro. Com contribuições nos aportes de Pierre Nora, da noção “lugares de memória” busca-se, sinalizar os significados e sentidos que lugares dos patrimônios do referido estado agregam, a fim de perceber que partilhados e ressignificados propiciam a invenção de lugares. Por outro lado, também são apontados os benefícios e limites das leituras de fontes memorialísticas, que nos aproximam da memória coletiva e ao nos enveredarmos por essas leituras, identificamos todo um modo de ser e estar das pessoas nos lugares, ou seja, a cultura e a história dos grupos sociais a que pertencemos. Destacamos algumas iniciativas realizadas pela Fundação de Cultura, Instituto Histórico Geográfico de Mato Grosso do Sul e Museu de Arqueologia da UFMS, que viabilizaram a reedição de obras clássicas da cultura sul-mato-grossense, que podem nos aproximar da memória coletiva. Por fim, identificamos possibilidades do uso dessas obras para trabalhar com a educação patrimonial. Um uso que que rompe com a sequência sistemática e engessada da história oficial, que promove o reconhecimento e valorização da cultura partilhada, bem como o conhecimento da nossa história.
