The article´s purpose is to analyze the novel Mayombe, written by the angolan writer Pepetela. It investigates the representation of Angola’s liberation war, the construction of a historical perspective through the context in which it was written and the documentary and testimonial character of the novel.||Este artigo tem como objetivo realizar uma análise do romance Mayombe, do escritor angolano Pepetela, tendo como preocupação central a representação da guerra,a construção da perspectiva história do contexto em que foi escrito e o cunho documental e testemunhal do romance.
