Translation of excerpt from chapter 13 of the book Short Nights of the Shadow Catcher – the epic life and immortal photographs of Edward Curtis, by Timothy Egan (USA, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2012), about the epic work of the famous American photographer who undertook shooting all Amerindian peoples of the United States in the early twentieth century.
