This article addresses the historical and cultural practices that involve the cinema in the transatlantic space, mapping its different vectors of mediation: the circulation of films, texts and theories; institutional exchange; the agents involved in this process; and spaces of sociability and consumption. As a case study, we will examine the participation of cinema in universal exhibitions.||O artigo se ocupa das práticas históricas e culturais que envolvem o cinema no espaço transatlântico, mapeando seus diferentes vetores de mediação: a circulação de filmes, textos e teorias; o intercâmbio institucional; os agentes envolvidos nesse processo; e os espaços de sociabilidade e consumo. Como estudo de caso, examinaremos a participação do cinema nas exposições universais.
