This study seeks to understand how is the operation of the production and circulation of scientific knowledge, which is a constituent part of society is also reflected on popular science, where science comes out of his place of "origin" (educational institutions with its technology centers, for example) and become "publicized" (media), or becomes part of daily life for non-specialists. It is about the school as a place of institutionalized production and transmission of scientific knowledge and is now sharing space with the media that increasingly occupies a position within the transmitter of scientific knowledge.||Busca-se neste estudo compreender como se dá o funcionamento da produção e circulação do saber científico, que é parte constitutiva da sociedade, reflete-se também sobre divulgação científica, em que a ciência sai de seu lugar de “origem” (instituições de ensino com seus centros tecnológicos, por exemplo) e passa a ser “publicizada” (mídia), ou seja, passa a fazer parte do cotidiano dos não especialistas. Considera-se acerca da escola enquanto lugar institucionalizado de produção e transmissão de conhecimento científico e está, hoje, dividindo espaço com a mídia que cada vez mais se coloca numa posição de transmissora do conhecimento científico.
