Este estudo pretende introduzir o, ainda não estudado, primeiro jornal diário a ser editado em Portugal. Depois de contextualizar o jornal em termos da história da imprensa e do jornalismo globais, procura-se desvendar o enquadramento face à imprensa do seu tempo, e quem foram redatores e responsáveis por esta publicação que surgiu no fim da primeira invasão francesa em Portugal. O entrosamento do jornal com a cidade a permitir um contributo cultural e político para o conhecimento da cidade de Lisboa do início do século XIX, será outro contributo deste artigo. Espera-se que suscite, de ambos os lados do Oceano, a vontade de prosseguir a investigação sobre o Diário Lisbonense.
||This study aims to present the first daily journal not yet studied in Portugal. After contextualizing the newspaper in terms of the Global History of the Press and Journalism, it seeks to figure out which framework in the face of the press of its time and who were the editors and responsible for this publication, which arose at the end of the first French invasion. The interaction of the newspaper with the city to allow a cultural and political contribution to the knowledge of the city of Lisbon at the beginning of the 19th century is another anticipated contribution of this article. It is expected to raise the desire on both sides of the Ocean to continue the investigation on the Diário Lisbonense.
