The aim of this article is to present the Bells in Minas Gerais, Brazil in three aspects: its materiality, the social practices that give them meaning even today and the knowledges in them that refer us to a European andIberian legacy dating to at least 16th century. Its circumscription to the mining region of the State of Minas Gerais gave them a specific cultural territory that at the time it speaks of the local, the specific, the singular is able to speak of the nation since 2009 when was conferred on these ring tones the title of Cultural Heritage of Brazil.||O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar o Toque dos Sinos em Minas Gerais, Brasil sob três aspectos: sua materialidade, as práticas sociais que lhes dão sentido ainda hoje e os saberes neles consubstanciados que nos remetem a um legado europeu e ibérico que data pelo menos do século XVI. Os aspectos abordados neste artigo os circunscrevem à região mineradora do Estado de Minas Gerais. Este recorte lhes conferiu um território cultural específico que ao tempo em que nos fala do local e do singular nos é capaz de falar da nação uma vez que em 2009 foi conferido a esses toques de sinos o título de Patrimônio Cultural do Brasil.
