O Retorno é um romance de Dulce Maria Cardoso ambientado no período da descolonização de Portugal, especialmente após a Guerra Colonial em Angola. A independência daquele país provocou a fuga de centenas de milhares de colonos, obrigados a retornarem à Metrópole (Lisboa). Neste cenário, a autora reconstrói a vida de uma família de “retornados”, a partir da ótica de um adolescente. O objetivo deste artigo é buscar compreender como as reflexões deste jovem, aliadas às memórias da autora – ela própria uma “retornada” – remetem ao sentimento de não-pertencimento e ilustram uma faceta impar do pós-colonialismo contemporâneo.||O Retorno its a novel by Dulce Maria Cardoso set in the period of decolonization from Portugal, especially after the Colonial War in Angola. The purpose of this article is to seek to understand how the reflections of this young, combined with the author's memories - itself a "returned" -, refer to the feeling of not belonging and illustrate an odd facet of contemporary postcolonialism.
