O trabalho tem por objetivo a análise de como a sexualidade foi usada como ferramenta biopolítica. Em A Vontade de Saber, Foucault afirma que pela primeira vez na história o biológico se reflete no político, caindo em parte no campo de controle do saber e de intervenção do poder, assim como na atuação da norma. O pano de fundo que se tem nessa situação, segundo Foucault, é a importância assumida pelo sexo como foco da disputa política e se encontra na articulação entre os dois eixos do biopoder: disciplinas do corpo e regulamentação das populações. No século XIX a sexualidade é esmiuçada nos mínimos detalhes, nas condutas, nos sonhos, a partir dos primeiros anos da infância como chave da individualidade permitindo analisá-la e constituí-la.||This study aims to look at how sexuality was used as biopolitics instrument. In The Will to Knowledge, Foucault says that for the first time in history the biologist is reflected in the political, falling partly in the field of control of knowledge and the power of intervention, as well as the performance of the standard. The background of that situation, according to Foucault, is the importance assumed by sex as a focus of the political dispute and is in the joint between the two axes of biopower: disciplines of the body and regulation of populations. In the 19th century sexuality is scrutinized in minimal details in conducts, in dreams, from early childhood as the key to allowing individuality analyze it and form it.
