O presente ensaio apresenta uma breve digressão sobre o teatro político, na modernidade e nos Estados Unidos, e comenta o espetáculo Man of flesh and cardboard (2011). Encenada pelo Bread and Puppet Theater, essa peça remete a um massacre de civis cinegrafado no Iraque e publicado no site WikiLeaks, e ao caso Bradley Manning, soldado acusado do vazamento de informações militares secretas.||This paper presents a brief digression on modern political theatreand political theatre in the United States. The introduction isfollowed by a description of Bread and Puppet Theater’s 2011Man of Flesh and Cardboard, a play about the recordings of themilitary gunning down of civilians in Iraq published by WikiLeaksand the case of Pfc. Bradley Manning, accused of having passedclassified defense information.
