A série Pesquisa escolar deseja ser uma pequena enciclopédia ilustrada. Seu ponto de partida é a observação de recortes que minha avó materna guardava em pastas intituladas genericamente “gravuras para pesquisa escolar”. Quando criança, a lógica cívica e edificante dessas pastas talvez organizasse meu mundo. Não sei mais. Certo é que ao reencontrá-las, comecei a pensar nas imagens ausentes, nas tantas pastas que faltavam. Assim, como num jogo de encaixes em que há sempre peças extraviadas, inscrevo nessas imagens – todas realizadas com carimbo sobre etiquetas autocolantes –, algumas camadas da violência extrema que nos constitui. E a partir de uma foto escolar, inscrevo a mim mesma nessas imagens, aquela que fui, aluna de uma escola pública no Rio de Janeiro nos anos da ditadura civil-militar.AbstractThe “School research” series aims to be a small illustrated encyclopedia. The starting point was the observation of clippings that my maternal grandmother kept in folders generically titled “pictures for school research”. As a child, the civic and uplifting logic of these folders might have organized my world. I am not so sure anymore. What is certain is that when I found them again, I started to think of the absent images, of the many missing folders. Thus, as in a game of fitting pieces in which there are always some that are astray, I inscribe in these images – all made with stamps on self-adhesive labels –, some layers of the extreme violence that constitutes us. And from a school photo, I inscribe myself, the one I was, a student at a public school in Rio de Janeiro in the years of the civil-military dictatorship.
