In the present paper, we consider reading as a mechanism of approximation to the Other. We suggest that this act is seen as a crossing to register ourselves on the Other, as the reader goes from the original text to interpretation, and sees themselves as a resident in each of them. We also rely on the relations between sense andotherness that are established in literary work, which is a mediator of the dialetics between the self and the Other.|| No presente estudo, propomos pensar na leitura como mecanismo de aproximação com o Outro. Sugerimos que esse ato seja visto como travessia para inscrevermo-nos no Outro, na medida em que o leitor transita entre o texto original e sua interpretação e se percebe como residente em cada um desses textos. Valemo-nos também das relações entre sentido e alteridade, que se estabelecem a partir da literatura, a qual se coloca, então, como mediadora da dialética entre o eu e o outro.
