This article starts with the analysis of verbal language features and compares them with visual language in order to discuss the difficulty of constructing a representational area in three dimensions based on semiotics. The area of the sign itself, the area of the object referred to by a sign (the signifier) and the area of those interpreting the sign.||O artigo parte da análise das características da linguagem verbal e comparação com a linguagem visual para discutir o problema da construção do espaço da representação em três dimensões distintas, a partir da semiótica. O espaço do signo em si, o espaço do referente do signo, e o espaço do interpretante do signo.
