this work intends to raise the issue on how to research in psychoanalysis, making a comparison between theoretical research and field research, and from this, locate the insertion of the psychoanalytic discourse, psychoanalyst and researcher in these two modes of investigation. From the elucidation of two examples - one for field research and one for the theoretical - will explore the significant intervention in an attempt to ask if the theoretical research also did not understand a intervention form. Backed by the psychoanalytic approach and considering the design of this current on the act, as something that involves a transformation, one before and one after, we seek to consider the theoretical research in psychoanalysis, this logic, since it produces effects in the subject and in the object searched. Keywords: Psychoanalysis; Act; Intervention Research;|| o presente trabalho pretende levantar a questão sobre as formas de pesquisa em psicanálise, fazendo uma comparação entre a pesquisa teórica e a de campo e, a partir disso, localizar a inserção do discurso psicanalítico e do pesquisador-psicanalista nessas duas modalidades de investigação. A partir da elucidação de dois exemplos – um para a pesquisa de campo e outro para a teórica - exploraremos o significante intervenção na tentativa de indagarmos se a pesquisa teórica não compreenderia também uma forma de intervenção. Apoiados na abordagem psicanalítica e considerando a concepção dessa corrente sobre ato como algo que implica uma transformação, um antes e um depois, buscamos considerar a pesquisa teórica em psicanálise nessa lógica, uma vez que produz efeitos no sujeito e no objeto pesquisado.
