Following Esenin’s suicide, Mayakovsky referred to his death as a “literary fact”. Five years later, his suicide would be called by the same expression. Replacing the word “fact” by “event”, a reflection shall be developed about the relations between suicide and literature. Firstly, the spectacular sphere of suicide will be discussed together with its dual character as a performance. Subsequently, focus shall be turned to the movement of self-destruction inherent to the text with basis on theideas of Blanchot, leading, finally, to a deconstructive approach of the notions of event and literature.||Após o suicídio de Esenin, Mayakovsky chamou sua morte de um “fato literário”. Cinco anos mais tarde, seu próprio suicídio seria chamado pela mesma expressão. Substituindo a palavra “fato” por “evento”, desenvolveremos uma reflexão sobre as relações entre suicídio e literatura. Em primeiro lugar, será discutido a esfera espetacular do suicídio assim como seu caráter de dualidade e performance. Subsequentemente, o foco será voltado para o movimento de autodestruição inerente ao texto, com base nas ideias de Blanchot, passando, finalmente para uma abordagem desconstrutiva das noções de evento e literatura.
