The article discusses the relationship between cinema and history from the image of Abraham Lincoln in Young Mr. Lincoln (1939), from John Ford. For such, it analyses the presence of this character in the field of iconography, historiography and arts to work with its filmic specificity. At the same time, it points out the issues of the context that better contribute to understand its allegoric dimension.||El artículo discute las relaciones entre cine e historia a partir de la imagen de Abraham Lincoln en Young Mr. Lincoln (1939), de John Ford. Para ello, sitúa la presencia de este personaje en el campo de la iconografía, de la historiografía y de las artes para trabajar su especificidad fílmica.
