The purpose of this article is to analyze the relationship between the constitution of history as a scientific discipline in the nineteenth century and the old models of historiography. In this sense, this article will discussed the different conceptions of history sixteenth to the eighteenth century, the historiography of mutations early nineteenth century, and finally, the importance of Thucydides to the constitution of historical science, particularly in nineteenth-century Germany.||O objetivo do artigo é o de analisar a relação entre a constituição da história como disciplina científica no século XIX e os modelos antigos da historiografia. Nesse sentido, serão abordados as diferentes concepções de história do século XVI ao XVIII, as mutações historiográficas do início do século XIX, e, por fim, a importância de Tucídides para a constituição da ciência histórica, sobretudo, na Alemanha do século XIX.
