In this essay is presented a research on the management of political images and memories in the contemporary socio-historical space. It stands out in a study of image politicy in the empirical fields and its outstanding semiological characteristics. It’s an investigation about the colonization of the socio-political imaginary, through historical images staged in cultural institutions, monuments and urban social spaces. It’s analyzed some aspects of the national imaginary framework, punctuating moments highlighted in a long cycle of historical celebrations since Independence in 1822. We seek to articulate the concepts of ‘semiotic war machine’, ‘battle of images’ and ‘war of images’ in the studies on political memory today. Along this path, through the notion of ‘grafted memories’ into the understanding of the logic of imagery resurgences in the current political space.||Nesse ensaio apresentamos pesquisa sobre a gestão das imagens e das memórias políticas no espaço sócio-histórico contemporâneo. Destaca-se no estudo da política da imagem nos campos empíricos, suas características semiológicas sobressalentes. Trata-se de um estudo sobre a colonização do imaginário sociopolítico, através de imagens históricas encenadas em equipamentos culturais, monumentos e espaços sociais urbanos. Analisamos aspectos da montagem do quadro imagético nacional pontuando momentos destacados num largo ciclo de comemorações históricas ativadas desde a Independência em 1822. Nesse trabalho, articulamos os conceitos de máquina de guerra semiótica, batalha das imagens e guerra das imagens sobre a memória política na atualidade. Nesse trajeto operamos a noção de memórias enxertadas na compreensão da lógica das ressurgências imagéticas no espaço sociopolítico.
