Since the second half of the twentieth century, visibility is gained by the western world adolescent’s growing pursuit for self-assertion as subject. Within this social process, these subjects need to handle possible dilemmas between the expectations arising from family members, teachers and peer groups, since nowadays, youth groups are presented as significant references for the adolescent to think about his/her choices and his/her place in the social world. In this paper, the intergenerational relation is problematized from the speech of teenagers (between 13 and 14 years old) from public schools in São João del-Rei, Minas Gerais. Between 2008 and 2010, when our survey was accomplished, these youngsters were entering adolescence and living the moratorium from the working world, having as main social duty the exercise of the “craft of students.” Through group dynamics and individual interviews, we discussed the intergenerational relations experienced by the subjects in family and at school.||Desde a segunda metade do século XX, ganha visibilidade a busca crescente dos adolescentes no mundo ocidental pela autoafirmação como sujeito. No interior desse processo social, esses sujeitos devem manejar possíveis dilemas entre as expectativas advindas dos familiares e professores e aquelas dos seus pares, pois na contemporaneidade os grupos juvenis constituem referenciais muito significativos para o adolescente refletir sobre suas escolhas e seu lugar no mundo social. Neste artigo, a relação intergeracional será problematizada a partir das falas de adolescentes de idade entre 13 e 14 anos provenientes de escolas públicas de São João del-Rei, Minas Gerais. Entre 2008 e 2010, quando a pesquisa foi realizada, esses jovens estavam entrando na adolescência e viviam a moratória do mundo do trabalho, apresentando como principal dever social o exercício do “ofício do aluno”. Por meio de dinâmicas grupais e entrevistas individuais, discutimos as relações intergeracionais vividas na família e na escola pelos sujeitos pesquisados.
