This article is the result of a research developed in the course of graduation in History of the Centro Universitário Adventista de São Paulo (UNASP EC), which had as its theme the historical monuments dedicated to the female personalities and as object of study the busts of women placed in public spaces in the context of São Paulo. Aiming to apprehend in these works discussions that may be relevant to understand the representation of women in the twentieth century society and how these monuments are inserted in the urban context of the society in which they were created and nowadays. The investigation used a theoretical discussion and the analysis of the monuments placed in the city of São Paulo in the twentieth century. It was concluded that in relation to the men, few were the women who received this homage and that the represented figures were illustrious people who performed outstanding achievements.||Este artigo é o resultado de uma pesquisa desenvolvida no curso de Licenciatura em História, do Centro Universitário Adventista de São Paulo (UNASP EC), que teve como tema os monumentos históricos dedicados às personalidades femininas e como objeto de estudo os bustos de mulheres colocados em espaços públicos no contexto paulista, tendo como objetivo apreender nessas obras discussões que possam ser pertinentes para entender a representação da mulher na sociedade do século XX e como esses monumentos se inserem no contexto urbano da sociedade da época em que foram criados e na atualidade. A investigação utilizou uma discussão teórica e a análise dos monumentos colocados na cidade de São Paulo no século XX. Concluiu-se que em relação aos homens, poucas foram as mulheres que receberam essa homenagem e que as figuras representadas foram pessoas ilustres que realizaram feitos de grande destaque.
