This paper aims at discussing the riot that occurred at Pompeii’s amphitheater in A.D. 59. To discuss this particular episode I shall focus in two different evidences: Tacitu’s report in Annals and the popular graffiti. In the following pages, I propose some commentaries on the Latin evidences and I also suggest an analyses of the social and political context in which the riot took place. Para tanto, optamos por selecionar duas categorias documentais distintas: o relato de Tácito e os grafites parietais escritos por populares em Pompéia.
