This work verifies to what extent the picture, product of a mediation strongly technique, can reveal an imaginary. With the presupposition that the pictures constitute communicative actions to share world visions, we examined phtographs done by amateurs. The aim is to use the Studies of the Imaginary by Gilbert Durand to look symbolic images for the photographic images. It is ended that the symbolic imagination is present also in an activity eminently technique as the picture, and that the abundance of pictures of the intimate banalities indicates a conversion of the objetictiv and warlike imaginary to an euphemistic and subjetctiv imaginary.||Este trabalho tem como objetivo verificar até que ponto a fotografia, produto de uma mediação fortemente técnica, pode revelar um imaginário. Com o pressuposto de que as fotografias constituem atos comunicativos que desejam partilhar visões de mundo, são examinadas fotografias do cotidiano feitas por amadores. Utilizam-se os Estudos do Imaginário encetados por Gilbert Durand para buscar as imagens simbólicas movimentadas pelas imagens fotográficas. Conclui-se que a imaginação simbólica está presente também numa atividade eminentemente técnica como a fotografia, e que a abundância de fotografias das banalidades íntimas indica uma conversão do imaginário objetivante e bélico a um imaginário eufemizador e subjetivante.
