Starting from the interpretive direction indicated by Arendt, which emphasizes the role of metaphor in Walter Benjamin's thought, this article examines a metaphorical complex in particular: one that links a series of female images to the faculty to produce images. Such metaphorical configurations, which refer to neo-kantian sources of Benjamin's thought, stand out in Berlin's childhood around 1900, and in “After conclusion”, a short prose that presents artistic creation in an erotic metaphor.||Partindo da entrada interpretativa indicada por Arendt, que enfatiza o papel da metáfora no pensamento de Walter Benjamin, este artigo examina um complexo metafórico em particular: aquele que liga uma série de imagens femininas à faculdade de produzir imagens. Tais configurações metafóricas, que remetem a fontes neo-kantianas do pensamento de Benjamin, se destacam em Infância berlinense por volta de 1900, e em “Após a conclusão”, prosa curta que apresenta a criação artística numa metáfora erótica.
