Apropriações, tensões e conflitos são cenas e marcas visíveis e fazem parte da história da Estátua de Padre Cícero, em Juazeiro do Norte, ao longo de sua existência política e religiosa. Para compreendermos este quadro, recorremos à ideia de sua construção, apropriação política, religiosa e social. A relação envolvendo os significados de patrimônio social e patrimônio institucional é ponto central para compreendermos o lugar da estátua na atualidade. A recente retomada da mesma como patrimônio cultural, com a intenção de ser tombada pelos órgãos institucionais, obedece à lógica econômica no sentido de transformá-la em atrativo turístico. Por isso, propomos apresentar a forma como este patrimônio social e institucional territorializado tem sido apropriado e reapropriado pelos diferentes atores sociais urbanos.Palavras-chave: Conflitos. To understand this situation, we search for the idea of its construction and political, religious and social appropriation. The relationship involving the meanings of social and institutional heritage is central to understand the place of the statue nowadays. The recent statue resumption as institutional and cultural heritage obeys the economic logic in order to turn it into a tourism attraction.
