The Hereford map is the biggest world-map that had survived the Middle Age. It possess 1,59m of height for approximately 1,40m of width. It presents a very rich description of the world, with about 1.100 legends – in Latin (internal to the map) and Anglo-Norman (external to the map). It was confectioned in England about the end of XIIIth century for Ricardo de Haldingham and had a multipurpose use (pedagogical, devotional, luxurious gift).||O mapa de Hereford é o maior mapa-múndi que sobreviveu à Idade Média. Possui 1,59 m de altura por aproximadamente 1,40m de largura. Apresenta uma descrição do mundo muito rica, com cerca de 1.100 legendas – em latim (internas ao mapa) e anglo-normando (externas ao mapa). Foi confeccionado na Inglaterra ao final do século XIII por Ricardo de Haldingham e possuía um uso polivalente (pedagógico, devocional, presente de luxo).
