Images are artistic experimentations that accompany humans since the dawn of history. They were created by man designating various senses, such as religious, social and cultural. Gradually the image went from a mere illustration, becoming a historical source, due to exposure fact that she shows. The culturalista approach to history was contributor to this rise as a source image. Thus, the critical reading of the image is crucial to understand the meanings of the work. One of the classic methods for reading images is the method iconological of Erwin Panofsky. To obtain an overall analysis of the work, the research methods of Carlo Ginzburg and the fundamentals of relational Aesthetics, Nicolas Bourriaud will be exposed in the text. The exchange of ideas between these three authors will be essential to the creation of a methodology capable of including the diferent senses of the image.||As imagens são experimentações artísticas que acompanham o ser humano desde os primórdios da história. Elas foram criadas pelo homem designando vários sentidos, tais como os religiosos, sociais e culturais. Paulatinamente a imagem passou de uma mera ilustração, se tornando uma fonte histórica, devido à exposição de realidade que ela demonstra. A abordagem culturalista da história foi contribuinte para essa ascensão da imagem como fonte. Sendo assim, a leitura crítica da imagem é fulcral para entender as significações da obra. Um dos métodos clássicos para a leitura de imagens é o método iconológico de Erwin Panofsky. Para se obter uma análise totalizante da obra, os métodos de pesquisa de Carlo Ginzburg e os fundamentos da Estética relacional, de Nicolas Bourriaud serão expostos no texto. A troca de ideias entre esses três autores será essencial para a criação de uma metodologia capaz de abarcar os diversos sentidos da imagem.
