The article intends to analyze the figuration of errancy in this novel, stressing its articulations with literary memory and the historical experience of the Brazilian people. It also aims at emphasizing the especific ways in which the narrative stages the interdiction of territorialization, thus projecting violence and exclusion as recurring semantic axes in the characterization of the space in which the landless roam.||A leitura objetiva analisar a figuração da errância no romance, destacando suas articulações com a memória literária e a experiência histórica do povo brasileiro. Pretende-se realçar o modo específico por meio do qual a narrativa coloca em cena a interdição de territorialização, projetando assim a violência e a exclusão como eixos semânticos recorrentes na caracterização do espaço no qual se movem os camponeses sem-terra.
