From the analysis of contemporary works that expand the concept of theater beyond its realization ephemeral , unique and unrepeatable , this article introduces the concept of "virtual theater", formulated with the aim of problematize the boundaries of theatrical experience . From this new concept, we rethink not only the way we look at the contemporary performing experiences, but also the very relationship between criticism and creation, theater and literature, fiction and reality.English version by Leslie Damasceno.||A partir da análise de obras contemporâneas que expandem a concepção do teatro para além de sua realização efêmera, singular e irreproduzível, este artigo apresenta o conceito de “teatro virtual”, formulado com o intuito de problematizar os limites da experiência teatral. A partir desse novo conceito, podemos repensar não apenas a forma como analisamos as experiências performativas contemporâneas, mas também as próprias relações entre crítica e criação, teatro e literatura, ficção e realidade.
