This article presents some notes that aim to consider the challenges faced by anthropologists that do research in heritage. The brief narrative of two specific cases aims to point out obstacles in this anthropological line of work and to shed light on (1) the path to the reflection on the role of anthropologists and anthropology in the face of dilemmas and challenges, which are present in certain state agendas regarding heritage, and on (2) what kind of knowledge has been produced and how it has impacted issues of public interest.||Este artigo apresenta algumas notas que visam refletir sobre os desafios enfrentados por antropólogos/as que pesquisam em campo patrimonial. A narrativa breve de dois casos específicos visa apontar obstáculos que se apresentam nesse fazer antropológico e iluminar o caminho para (1) a reflexão sobre o papel dos antropólogos e da antropologia face aos dilemas e desafios que se delineiam em determinadas agendas de ações do Estado no caso dos patrimônios e (2) sobre que tipo de conhecimento tem sido produzido e como tem impactado questões de interesse público.
