Orientador: Ernesto Giovanni Boccara||Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Instituto de Artes||Resumo: As duas últimas décadas viu surgir um novo tipo de cinema de vanguarda pelo mundo, onde sua vertente estadunidense obteve grande impacto na crítica. Este tipo de cinema, chamado Cinema Lento Ecológico, apresenta de maneira insistente uma característica até hoje bastante peculiar para a história do cinema: a contemplação do mundo natural através do audiovisual. Unindo estratégias estéticas e temáticas oriundas do slow cinema e ecocinema, surgem obras como as de James Benning e Sharon Lockhart. Obras que perante a teoria realista de cinema, principalmente de Siegfried Kracauer, Vivian Sobchack e Adrian Ivakhiv, se mostram bastante relevantes às questões fenomenológicas e cognitivas do mundo moderno. Onde em um estado de má participação ou percepção do mundo natural, este cinema poderia realizar uma espécie de "redenção da natureza", através da estética material de duração, e assim ajudar a nos reaproximar do meio natural||Abstract: A new kind of experimental cinema has emerged in the last two decades, where its North American counterpart has caused a great impact on critics. This kind of cinema, called Slow Ecological Cinema, very insistently foregrounds a characteristic that until today has been quite peculiar to film history: the contemplation of the natural world through the audiovisual. Uniting aesthetic strategies from slow cinema and ecocinema, results in works such as those by James Benning and Sharon Lockhart. Works that in light of realist film theory, mainly that of Siegfried Kracauer, Vivian Sobchack and Adrian Ivakhiv, proves themselves to be quite relevant to the phenomenological and cognitive issues of the modern world. Where in a state of poor participation or perception of the natural environment, this cinema could achieve a kind of "redemption of nature", through its material aesthetic of duration, and thus help bring us closer to the natural world||Mestrado||Multimeios||Mestre em Multimeios
