The goal of this study was to understand pedagogical concepts and practices regarding an experience of musical creation with the students. I deal with the studies created by Keith Swanwick (1988, 2014) and Viviane Beineke (2009), regarding the teaching approaches of musical composition within basic education. Swanwick proposes reflections on the dynamic and inseparable relation between theory and practice, necessary for renewing experiences and developing learning as a simultaneous thinking and acting on the part of the teachers. Beineke analyses matters referring to creative learning, reinforcing the importance of the interaction process for a meaningful practice. The author points out that the students' engagement in the teacher’s pedagogical practices is key, considering it is the teacher’s responsibility to arouse the students’ interest in that class’s space-time, involving curiosities and challenges that mobilize them. The work methodology consisted of a participant observation, in which the creative process of the researcher and teacher was described through a contextualization of course plans based on the Music Education Program of the institution, audio records, commented transcriptions of the classes, besides audio recordings of the final versions of music composed by the groups. The results show that, from the point of view of the teacher's presence in the process of collective composition, some positions have been identified: effective participation with guiding ideas; organizational contributions; contributions on specific technical issues; observation with questions; creation of a favorable pedagogical environment. It was revealed that a broader thinking about the work dynamics, seeking to capture the atmosphere of the pedagogical environment, and the ability to continuously evaluate their positioning throughout the class were significant aspects in the composition activity described, demanding dynamism and flexibility from the teacher. Organizational formats made by students throughout the activity were also revealed, oscillations in attention states in their creative process, and a few relationship profiles with music class. These results point to a need for more studies about the performance of teachers with composition during regular classes and not only in extra curricular projects. Composition on the music education curriculum at school, its challenges, tensions in dialogue with the theoretical frameworks indicate the importance of discussing their approaches in teacher training in undergraduate courses.||n/a||Essa pesquisa apresenta o processo de criação coletiva de canções em turmas do Ensino Médio no Colégio Pedro II de Realengo. O objetivo do estudo foi compreender as concepções e práticas pedagógicas de uma abordagem de criação musical com os estudantes. Dialogo com os estudos de Keith Swanwick (1988, 2014) e Viviane Beineke (2009), no que se referem à abordagem docente da composição musical no âmbito da educação básica. Swanwick propõe reflexões sobre a estrutura dinâmica e indissociável entre teoria e prática, necessária para que se renovem as experiências e aprofundem os aprendizados como um pensar/agir simultâneo e atento por parte dos professores. Beineke analisa questões referentes à aprendizagem criativa, reforçando a importância do processo de interação para uma prática significativa. A autora aponta que o engajamento dos alunos nas práticas pedagógicas do professor é fundamental, considerando que a este cabe despertar o interesse por aquele espaço-tempo da aula, envolvendo curiosidades e desafios que mobilizem os estudantes. A metodologia de trabalho consistiu em uma observação participante, em que o processo de criação do próprio pesquisador e professor foi descrito por meio de uma contextualização dos planejamentos de curso à luz do Programa de Educação Musical da instituição, registros em audio, transcrições comentadas das aulas, além de gravações em audio das versões finais das músicas compostas pelos grupos. Os resultados mostram que, do ponto de vista da presença do professor no processo de composição coletiva, alguns posicionamentos foram identificados: a participação efetiva com ideias norteadoras; contribuições organizativas; contribuições em questões técnicas pontuais; observação com perguntas; criação de um ambiente pedagógico favorável; Revelou-se que um pensar mais amplo sobre a dinâmica de trabalho buscando captar a atmosfera do ambiente pedagógico e a capacidade de avaliar continuamente seu posicionamento ao longo da aula, foram aspectos significativos na atividade de composição descrita, exigindo dinamismo e flexibilidade por parte do professor. Também foram revelados formatos de organização assumidos pelos estudantes ao longo da atividade, oscilações no estados de atenção em seu processo criativo e alguns perfis de relacionamento com a aula de música. Esses resultados apontam para uma necessidade de mais estudos sobre a atuação dos professores com a composição no tempo de aulas regulares e não apenas em projetos extraclasse. A composição no currículo de educação musical na escola, seus desafios, tensionamentos em diálogo com os referenciais teóricos sinalizam para a relevância em debater sobre suas abordagens na formação de professores nos cursos de licenciatura.
