composer and pedagogue Ernst Mahle, in order to draw a parallel between those compositions
and Paul Hindemith’s neoclassic thoughts, summarized in what has been called
Gebrauchtmusik. Taking as a starting point Mahle’s deep connections with anthroposophy and
with the thoughts of Goethe, which will explain the composer’s predilections for the
predominance of tonal and modal language in his works, the analysis will suggest
emphasizing the common points between the actions of the composer and of the pedagogue,
focusing on the peculiarities of Mahle’s symphonic writing with regards to the idiomatic,
highlighting the importance that this author’s symphonic production has to the practices
developed along with the orchestra of formative trait.||n/a||A presente dissertação de mestrado propõe uma análise de três obras sinfônicas do compositor
e pedagogo Ernst Mahle, buscando traçar um paralelo entre essas composições e o
pensamento neoclássico de Paul Hindemith, sintetizados no que se denominou
Gebrauchtmusik. Tendo como ponto de partida as profundas ligações de Mahle com a
Antroposofia e com o pensamento de Goethe, que explicarão as predileções do compositor
pela predominância do idioma tonal e modal em suas obras, a análise proporá destacar o
tangenciamento entre a ação do compositor e do pedagogo, enfocando as peculiaridades da
escrita sinfônica de Mahle no que diz respeito à idiomática, ressaltando a importância que a
produção sinfônica desse autor tem para as práticas desenvolvidas junto às orquestras de
caráter formativo.
